...Birthday Week: Part 3

(Just to preface this post right here I will say that I went through this entire day without taking a shower, which by all accounts deems the day a partial (1/100) failure - only because by the time the birthday boy got home, I was dirty AND cranky. Next time I will try and do less because OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS the children want to help with every aspect of the party-getting-together-doings making it all take 10000x longer than expected. It was fun to watch the adorableness that was the kids' great interest in making their daddy's birthday so special, but as a control freak, I REALLY had to reign in my impatience.)

Present time!

A kid at heart.

The birthday cake.

Mazzy's special cake which included chocolate chips. We left them out of daddy's since he's not so much the chocolate  lover.

Pulled pork nachos for the Survivor premiere. Mazzy has been waiting months for this night

This right here is what makes the little trials throughout the day so worth the effort.

Zucchini/Carrot Cake. Quite delicious.

The evening did turn out pretty well, even if I was celebrating in my pajamas and ponytail. My husband is a very understanding man. God bless him.

  1. Aw, man. All these photos make me miss your house! Those nachos look absolutely delightful. So does Maz like the show really, or does she like all the hullabuloo around it. The party, food, gathering? So cute it's a family activity now.

I NEVER would have been able to get through the day without a shower, I would have lost my sh*t. You are a strong and loving woman to take such time with your kids so that they could participate in making their dads birthday great. :)

  2. Dude. That cake looks GOOD. Homemade cream cheese frosting?? Want it in my face. Now.

Also? I've seen you in pajama pants and a pony and you STILL look cute, ya' bitch. ;-)

I'm with Mel, though, you're one hell of a woman to make it through that sort of day without even taking a shower. I woulda' thrown in the towel! Ha! Towel, shower...that pun was totally unintended. :)

  5. Mel: Mazzy is like her father, and enjoys the challenges while I'm there shushing the rest of the family when the behind the scenes stuff is going on. ;) Thanks for the encouraging words, lady.

Ali: Yesiree, homemade cream cheese frosting...and have some leftover. Might make the cake again, ya know for the sake of not wasting. ;) Also: You're a funny woman!

Erin: Yep, it's official. We're twins.
