This afternoon I casually opened my refrigerator door to make lunch for the kids and came across a Transformers cup with my son's leftover smoothie occupying the inside. Oh, my goodness HOW LONG HAS THIS THING BEEN FERMENTING FOR? I felt a twinge of shame. I mean, c'mon Keri, clean the fridge out every so often! It shouldn't take friendly advice from my well meaning sister or a cup, with what someone equated to a science experiment, to routinely get my bum in gear and clean the dang thing out, right? Well...apparently, in my case, it does.

| (Also: I'm thinking I discovered the trick to making fruit roll-ups. Yum.) |
This got me to thinking: What other things have I been procrastinating about? Hmmmm, let's see....
 |
| My gnarly, neglected toenails. |
 |
| My poor eggplant. It's been transplanted into pot after bigger pot and truly deserves a chance in the GROUND. As of now I've cleverly rested it on top of the garden bed. I know, GO KERI! |
 |
| I don't know if you can tell but, there are two lonely nails below these two pictures that are missing their mates. My two brutes have slammed one too many doors and successfully sent my poor pictures crashing to the ground leaving the frames broken and defeated. Should probably take the nails out if anything. Geez Louise. |
 |
| The vacuum has been out since Sunday waiting for... |
 |
| ...someone to clear some floor space. |
 |
| My fall decoration, so far, are limited to this guy, whom the kids have named "Crystal". The little devil scares the crap out of me everytime I catch him out of the corner of my eye when I look out my son's window. I'm convinced everytime that I have a "peeper" lookin' in my windows, or a "creeper" waiting by the door, or a.....you get my drift. |
 |
| I kicked this sprinkler out of place and patiently waiting for my husband to fix it. God forbid I look up how to screw in a sprinkler. |
 |
| DON'T even talk to me about dusting. I despise doing it and will hold out as long as I can. Just watch me!! |
Ha! Your fruit roll-up comment made me laugh. It does look like that! I can't wait until the 1st when we can put up our Halloween decorations!
ReplyDeleteHarlie's room was a total nightmare for WEEKS! Usually we would at least pick it up a little before bed each night, and then we just stopped. For no reason. The other night Scott just decided to clean it all up and man, it's so pleasant walking into her room now...land mine free. Who knew?!
Don't even talk to me about my toe nails. Ew, gross.
I think we posted pictures of our shortcomings at the same time! It's what makes life livable my dear friend! That being said how about a pedi date?
ReplyDeleteErin, I couldn't agree with you more! When the kids' rooms are clean, they are my favorite rooms in the house.
ReplyDeleteAmy, that is so funny! When I saw the cobweb photo this morning I just noticed how cool the photo was...the piano pedals, the lighting and the perspective. It didn't even occur to me that you were taking a photo of a shortcoming. I guess we are harder on ourselves than others! Ah, a pedicure sounds divine.
I love this post. I think I will copy your post idea, do you mind. How refreshing to come clean with your little secrets. :) Ummm, your house looked great as did you this weekend!!
ReplyDeletePlease do, Mel! I'd love to see your dirty secrets. :) Thanks again, Mel, for your well needed company.
ReplyDeleteHee. You're funny. :)
