Since our first attempt at a garden went super good last year, we thought we'd try it again this year - knowing full well we may experience some disappointment in our garden's yield this second time around, mostly due to my pitiful lack of gardening knowledge in terms of rotating the soil, but who cares!?
I have to say it was nice not having to worry about building the darn garden bed thingy-ma-jig, or buying all of the soil. I simply supplemented with more organic potting soil and sprinkled and mixed in what I felt to be an adequate amount of organic vegetable fertilizer....ohmygoodness wish us luck. I have no idea what I'm doing.
Here's what's on the menu:

One of my most favorite parts about having our own garden growing in our backyard is when I can take my warm cup of coffee outside into the crisp morning air and check on our "babies".
I would love to start a little garden when Scott and I move. So fun to grow your own fresh veggies, involve the kids and hello...free food! Yours looks great and your garden helpers couldn't get any cuter!
ReplyDelete"Garden Tours" are the BEST! I love walking around at a snails pace and watching how things are progressing. Gonna try it with a cup of Joe next time. Thanks for the idea! Love Maz's fuzzy blue slippers!
ReplyDeleteYour garden was wildly successful last year, can't wait to see how many veggies you reap this year!
Thanks ladies for the comments! This garden is not taking off nearly as well as last year's....we'll see. :)
ReplyDeleteUm, Mel I wanna an update on your nifty garden, lady!!!
I love the photos in this post so much! The kids look so focused on the task at hand, adorable little gardeners that they are. And then there's you, sexy hot gardening mama extraordinaire in your strapless top and cute little hat and pony!
ReplyDeleteChecking on the garden in the morning with my coffee is one of my most favorite-est things to do in the Spring and Summer! The light from a low-hung sun, a slight chill to the air offsetting the warm mug in my hands, the birds singing their morning song, and adorable little kids in pajamas and bed head playing and laughing in the fresh air...Heaven!
